10 November 2005, Vigo, Spain: Pirate fever is spreading! Just in time for the start of Leg 1 of the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006, the Pirates of the Caribbean team has announced a new sponsor. Pescanova, one of Spainﾒs largest companies and an international market leader in their industry, has come onboard as an Official Partner of the team.

Pescanova is passionate about sailing, passionate about our team and knows this race well from their experience in 1993-1994. Having already partnered in a successful event which presented the Pirates of the Caribbean to school children of Vigo in late October, I am looking forward to working with Pescanova to continue this great formula around the world," commented Paul Cayard, Captain of The Black Pearl.

As Paul Cayard and The Pirates of the Caribbean circumnavigate the globe, together with Pescanova, the team will share the excitement of their experiences onboard The Black Pearl with children of all ages.

With final preparations of The Black Pearl underway, the team is set to embark on their race around the world with the support of Pescanova, when the race starts on Saturday in Vigo.
